In this issue we share exciting news from our first-ever ACI Career and Internship Fair, which matched potential employers with students and provided learning opportunities about improving job searches and becoming valued employees. We’re preparing for our Benefit Reception in April, and in May, well-known entrepreneur and author Michel Sonnenfeldt, founder and chairman of TIGER 21, will join us for a day of presentations and meetings in Chicago. ACI is sponsoring professional development opportunities this summer at Augustana College and Illinois College. Finally, we feature Judson University in this issue, our corporate partner, PNC, and welcome two new corporate board members: Mark T. Neil and Watchen Nyanue.

This issue features ACI member McKendree University, the state’s oldest college, and its president, James M. Dennis, who has served at McKendree since 1994. We also report on exciting upcoming events: Presidents of Knox College and Millikin University will address the City Club of Chicago about preparing students for the Illinois workforce; ACI’s first-ever Career and Internship Fair at North Central College matches employers with students seeking jobs and internships; and ACI’s 2018 Benefit Reception in April raises funds for peer mentoring and scholarships. Plus, we include student features, details of a new ACI jobs and internships webpage, tax-law information from Baker Tilly, ACI professional development conference dates, and we welcome Anthony Lobello, SmithGroupJJR, to the ACI Board of Trustees.
This issue features ACI member University of St. Francis and President Arvid C. Johnson, as well as ACI Scholar Erin Fleshren of McKendree University and ACI Peer Mentor Stacie Gill of Augustana College. Details of ACI’s new annual report are included, as are upcoming ACI events at the City Club of Chicago (Feb. 21) and the ACI Career Fair (March 23). We report on fall events that included the CEO of Morningstar, Kunal Kapoor, speaker at a breakfast for wealth advisers, another breakfast event for corporate and higher education human resources, diversity and inclusion officers, and ACI’s Fall Conference in Chicago. Finally, we welcomed Paycor as an ACI Corporate Partner and two new corporate board members: Richard Lynch of Sikich and Ranko Jovicevic of UPS.

Details of several fall ACI special events are announced: a workforce development breakfast for human resource, diversity and inclusion, and career-service professionals; ACI’s multi-track professional development conference; a breakfast meeting for financial and estate planning professionals; plus ACI’s first Career Fair in March 2018. We report on CIC/UPS Educational Endowment scholarships, new and acting presidents at ACI universities and new ACI board members. Finally, we feature news about two corporate partners: Synergy and Michael Best.

We announce that ACI’s Peer Mentoring Program will expand to include nine member campuses in fall 2017. Be sure to read about our outstanding scholars: Collin Tatone, University of St. Francis, Sarah Fosnaugh, Olivet Nazarene University and Callie Ellis, Knox College. We’re pleased to report the success of ACI’s 65th Anniversary Benefit Reception, plus actions by the board of trustees to welcome Wheaton College as a new ACI member, elect new ACI board leaders and approve plans for the new fiscal year. We also report that ACI was awarded a grant for a career fair in 2018 for students at member institutions, and we featured two of our corporate partners: BLDD Architects and Michael Best.

We announce an exciting scholarship with Call One for science, technology or business majors. Details are announced for ACI’s 65th Anniversary Benefit Reception and a full slate of ACI professional development conferences.
